Salam picked up the guitar at age 14; without any formal training, and managed to teach himself to play.
A few months later, he won a regional talent contest, hosted
by Yamaha, for playing an original piece on his guitar. He spent the next couple
of years exploring different styles, and exposing himself to everything from
Latin to Rock music.
He performed his first live concert at the age of 16, when he participated in
Rock Aid, a charity event hosted by the American British Academy (ABA), in
It was not until that performance that Salam realized his passion for music and
decided to go pro.
He spent the next few years performing at local student hangout's and
nightspots, solo or with an accompanying band, working on new compositions, shaping
his very own distinctive style.
Salam didn't limit himself to playing the guitar; he soon learned to play the
piano, bass guitar, bouzouki, xylophone and Flauto (recorder).
Between 2004 and 2006, Salam recorded 7 original tracks in total.
But it wasn't until January 2007 that he decided to become a full time
musician, dedicating his time solely to his music. After teaming up with some

His music has been heard over the airwaves of Amman FM since
June 2007, and has been subject to positive feedback. His music was also
featured in a film by the RFC. He is described by many as an eclectic musician;
this is mainly due to the variation in style, from instrumentals to songs with
lyrics in both English and Arabic, each song with its own unique flavor.
Live performances vary greatly so the audience never really knows what to
expect, he is sometimes accompanied by a full band lineup and guest musicians. Other
times, he is accompanied solely by a drummer, bassist and a violinist.
Salam is currently working with the band on a self titled album, which is
expected to be released in mid-2008.

يقوم سلام و فرقته بالمزج بين انماط موسيقية عدة بطريقة ذكيه وجريئة
بالاستفادة من الموروث الموسيقي العالمي بكل إتجاهاته من الجاز والروك القديم
والجديد وغيرهما. كان يظن أن الكتابة للغناء باللغة العربية لا يمكن بدون الخروج
من أغاني الحب أو اللوعة لفقدان الحب في الموسيقى العربية ولكنه عمل على موسيقى
وأغاني من تتحدث عن مسائل حياتية وبلغة بعيدة عن لغة أغاني الحب العربية.
يبحث سلام عن الصوت “النغم” الاصيل والذي يصعب تصنيفه ولكن ليس بقصد
التعجيز بل لعمل شيء متفرد ومتميز يعرض من خلاله أفكاره ويتشارك مع الجمهور في
تحليلها وتقييمها.
يعزف سلام حمود على عدد من الآلات بالاضافة للجيتار مثل الكيبورد والدرامز
والبوزوكي وغيرها متأثرا بانماط موسيقية مثل “نيو أيج”، الروك” والكلاسيك
والفلامنكو وغيرها.
أصدر العديد من الأغنيات ومنها اغنية "مين" التي جائت كنقد ساخر من مجتمع يشكو من مشاكله
الصغيرة ولا يدرك ان حلها ابسط مما يتصور.
وله إصدارات أخرى باللغتين العربية والانجليزية مظهراً ذكاء حاد ومقدرة
موسيقية عالية وإحساس مرهف.
كما والجدير بالذكر ان سلام قد حاز على المرتبة الاولى في مسابقة الفرق
الموسيقية الاردنية 2007 التي نظمت من قبل أورانج ريد و المركز الثقافي الفرنسي.
